It was love at first sight for Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett,
and the start of a long career in Star Trek. After being lovers
for several years, Gene and Majel got married in Japan in 1969 in a
Shinto-Buddhist ceremony. It must have been a good idea for them
to do so as the two remained together until his death in 1991.
